  • [S252] Hernsdorf letter from Mrs. Irmgard Asquith (Mulheim-Ruhr, Germany) to A (Alwin) & Emma (Hernsdorf) Feuerbacher Family (Austin, Texas), 18 December 1947; owner of original unknown. Hernsdorf niece giving family info & asking for aid after WWII. Kaye Wykoff, personnal records and files (Spring Branch, Texas). Photocopy obtained from Chester Feuerbacher around 1980. Another copy was found in the files of Alvin Leroy Feuerbacher and may have been obtained from Chester. The handwritten letter was transcribed and typed for clarity, possibly by Chester. It is unknown if the original was written in German or English. It is assumed that Chester obtained his copy of the letter from the family of one Alwin & Emma (Hernsdorf) Feuerbacher's children, probably Otto's, as his address was on the envelope. A second, typed transcription was done in 2009 by Kaye Wykoff and the interpretation differs somewhat from the original typed transcription.
