     Catherine Wallace was born between 1715 and 1717 in Cecil County, Maryland.1,2 She and Theophilus Alexander married in 1734 in Cecil County, Maryland.1 Catherine died before April 1778 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.3 and was buried at Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Huntersville, Mecklenburg County.2

     After her marriage in 1734, she was normally known as Catherine Alexander.1 "Soon after the death of Theophilus in 1768, his widow Catherine (Wallace) Alexander came to Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, to join several of her children who were already established there. Of her seven children, five moved to North Carolina - including the Rev Joseph Alexander."
